Visual Storytelling by Sean David Williams
Graphic Design intrigued me because of an interest in the practical application of aesthetic sensibilities. This interest was expanded upon when I realized graphic design can be an advocate for social and environmental change as shown by design leaders such as Milton Glaser, Ken Garland, and Tibor Kalman. Other artists such as Charley Harper, Willi Kunz, Karel Martens, and Bruno Munari drew me in aesthetically.
Throughout my life I have had an affinity for storytelling—whether in the form of panels in a graphic novel or creation stories from indigenous traditions. This made me realize everything has a story, and that everyone has a story to tell. By recounting and developing these stories for the world to see you can expose a beauty never seen or heard before. It is my goal to weave complex stories with words and images to see what can new possiblities can be created.
